On the back of our recent review of the Razer Barracuda X Chroma in Phantom White here. We have also been checking out the Razer Firefly V2 Pro and the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, both in Phantom White. Retailing at £109.99 and £169.99 respectively, these are not cheap upgrades, and because they look incredible together, we are going to review them together.
The Glow Just Gets Better
Although these are available in other colours, the Phantom White just shouts nostalgia from the rooftops. So I couldn’t be happier when we received them in the post. Let’s find out whether or not your hard-earned money should be used on getting a hold of this hardware.
Razer Firefly V2 Pro
Probably my favourite of the two products we are going to look at today. This large, fully illuminated mouse pad is a joy to have on my desk. With edge-to-edge lighting, fully customised in the Synapse app to fit right in with your setup. With the frosted glass finish as well as the Phantom White see-through elements, the colour really pops.
The Razer Firefly V2 Pro comes with a micro-textured surface, giving you a low-friction coefficient, meaning you have smooth control; those quick swipes are a thing of the past. With ultra-precise tracking, you will become a top-tier player in no time. Alongside the anti-slip base, the Razer Firefly will stay in place even under the heaviest of workloads.
It’s a fair size, though, so it won’t be suitable for those with narrow desks. At 278mm x 360mm in size, there is plenty of real estate to use. Alongside a detachable, braided USB Type-C cable, you have plenty of length as well. I was able to reach from one side of my desk to the floor on the other side. Perfect! One great feature though, is the integrated USB 2.0 port, meaning you can put your mouse dongle in there so that you get perfect reception. No longer will you have dropouts in your reception. Gaming sessions just got reliable!
Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K
With a nice, long name, this mouse has been around for a while. Having been released over a year ago, it was nice to see Razer bringing a couple of new colours to freshen up the brand. Phantom Green and this beautiful Phantom White have graced my desk for a couple of weeks now. Even writing this review, I keep looking down at the colour emanating from the base. Even more impressive is how it matches the Razer Firefly and the next review in the Phantom White series. Shhh, it’s a secret.
If you want to read about the features inside this see-through casing, then I’d recommend you check out this review here, where we checked out the Basilisk when it first launched. For the most part, though, this mouse is worth every single penny of its price tag. With impressive Gen-3 Optical switches, a Hyperspeed Wireless functionality, as well as a pretty awesome scroll wheel. Yes, even the scroll wheel gets a mention.
Final Thoughts
So what does all this mean for your desk? Well, personally, I absolutely love the aesthetic that the Phantom White range brings, even making use of the Barracude X Chroma on work calls is a joy. With a few little comments being made now and again as well. Positive ones only, please.
I will say that you will want to get both of these together. Don’t leave one behind on the shelf.
Easily, the Razer Firefly V2 Pro and the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K receive the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.
