Here is the freshly announced Razer Barracuda X which has just been announced by Razer. This is Razers latest wireless headset which supports multi-platform and mobile gaming for when you’re on the go!

This headset can do it all, sitting at home playing on your PS5? Connect it up and get ready. How about needing to catch that train in an hour? Chuck it in your bag along with your Nintendo Switch and away you go again.

As Razer have mentioned, usually a headset is “aggressively designed and fits in with ones battlestation” such as the Razer Kraken series. This isn’t what the Razer Barracuda X is looking to do. Here are some FAQs about this headset that were asked during the press conference for the hardware reveal:

Can the Barracuda X be reconfigured via Synapse? Is there a way to modify the sound settings to better suit first-person shooters such as lowering the bass and maximizing treble?
A: For immediate ease of use, the Barracuda X has be designed to work out of the box without requiring Synapse. As such there isn’t built-in Synapse support, but any equalizer applications can be used to further tune its sound.
Does Razer Barracuda X work with Xbox as well as PC, PlayStation, Switch and Android?
A: It works wirelessly natively across PC, PlayStation, Switch and Android. It will only work in wired mode with Xbox, as Xbox requires a proprietary Xbox Wireless connection or a unique USB dongle for pairing.
Will I be able to save profiles to the headset when plugged in to the PC that can be used on the Playstation?
A: The Barracuda X has been designed to work in a plug and play manner, so it does not need or have Synapse support, and so will not have profiles.
Could the dongle output to two Barracuda X headsets in future? e.g. watching an android tablet with 2x headsets
A: It does not currently support this, but could be a future feature that our development team will study and explore.
About the dongle: can it be something else for us to lose? Will you sell the dongle as a spare part? Why not use BT?
A: HyperSpeed Wireless was selected as it provides a low-latency gaming experience that Bluetooth currently doesn’t match, thus enabling a consistent lag-free experience across all platforms. We’ll come back to you about dongle replacement shortly.
Is the Barracuda X compatible with an iPhone (via an adapter) or an iPad with USB-C port?
A: Yes, it will work with iPads that have a USB-C port, and via iPhone through the adapter.
Do you have plans to launch Barracuda X version that will work wirelessly with Xbox Series consoles?
A: While we will only be announcing the base version of the Barracuda X at launch, we are open to exploring an Xbox wireless version if we see the demand for this from fans.
Is Barracuda X compatible with PS5 3D Audio?
A: Yes, it is!
