Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL – Keyboard Review

image of the vulcan tkl box on the desk

Those observant amongst you might recognise this keyboard. Yes, you are right. Back in 2019 when Turtle Beach acquired Roccat it took on their product range and as such tweaked and modified some of Roccats classics. Think of this keyboard, the Vulcan II TKL, as somewhat of a greatest hits. With its striking visuals as well as incredible features, it deserves to be mentioned again.

This Vulcan Is Aiming For Space

Now I could just signpost you to my original review, and update a few features. However, I prefer to just write a whole new review. So hang on and let’s see if you should be picking the Vulcan II TKL up in 2026?

Design Features

Let’s start with the looks, featuring a tenkeyless form factor, the Vulcan II TKL is sleek and stylish and would look great on any desk. With neat, narrow keycaps allowing you to see the Titan HS Mechanical Switches in action. Designed and built for gamers who absolutely love the feel of mechanical switches, but with smooth and linear movement. None of that clicky clacky stuff, but you get reliable activation. These switches have been rated to 50 million keystrokes, so even if you can type at 90 words per minute, this keyboard should last.

Close and personal!

The HS in the switches stands for Hot Swappable. So if you don’t like the switches included, you can swap them out fast enough for your other favourites. Being compatible with both the 3 and 5-pin switch variants, this gives you great maintenance. As well as customisation and even upgrades, without worrying about permanently damaging your keyboard.

Have you ever been playing a game and thought that your keys weren’t registering properly? With the Vulcan II TKL that is no more, with 100% anti-ghosting, each keypress will be registered accurately. Even when multiple keys are pressed at once. Giving you the reliability that you can stay competitive during high-intensity gaming sessions.

Small But Mighty

The Vulcan II TKL is a durable keyboard with a brushed aluminium top plate, as well as a great sound-dampening design. Giving you silence even when the times get frantic. This keyboard is built to last.

No idea why it looks warped!

You can customise the keyboard in the Swarm II software. Giving you access to profiles that can be stored on board the keyboard. 5 profiles can be stored on board giving you the ability to switch between them depending on what game you are playing. It’s a pretty neat feature that in all honesty, is on most of the more current keyboards out there so it’s nice to see it included here as well.

If you were worried about battery life, then fear not. This keyboard is wired. With a detachable USB-C cable it gives you a nice portability of the keyboard.

Final Thoughts

With plenty of features to give you a difficult question, the Vulcan II TKL is a great keyboard if you are looking to upgrade. Retailing at around £90, it’s an absolute bargain in my eyes.

Its really easy to give the Vulcan II TKL From Turtle Beach, the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
