Recently, we got contacted by a new company, Teevolution, asking if we wanted to check out their new ergonomic gaming mouse. Obviously, as we are all fans of new tech here at Thumb Culture, we jumped at the opportunity. Fast forward a short period of time and we got our hands on the Teevolution Terra. A brand new gaming mouse, combining an ergonomic design, lightweight feel and cutting-edge precision. Or at least that’s what all the buzzwords said.
Here Comes A New Challenger!
So, before we dive into the new mouse and what it brings to the market, let’s take a little look at just who Teevolution are. Initially they launched a few years ago under Fantech, however, there were issues with the branding and the identity. They admitted their failures and went back to the drawing board. They made some changes and decided to stand alone from Fantech, albeit under the same umbrella. Now they have their own dedicated team across operations, research and development and marketing. Being able to focus on delivering great quality gaming gear. I mean that is a proper hero story right there!
Design
The Teevolution Terra is inspired by the Latin word for Earth. Bringing stability, adaptability and a strong foundation from the ground up. With its ergonomic shape and weighing only 49 grams, this mouse is lightweight. It weighs roughly the same as an egg, although I wouldn’t be pushing an egg around your desk as practice. Messy!

Designed for both an ergonomic palm grip and a relaxed claw grip. A whole myriad of gamers can benefit from this mouse. I have been using the Razer Basilisk V3 for a number of months now, but I honestly think the Teevolution Terra is going to be my daily driver. Whilst it only has two buttons on the side it is a solid gaming mouse.
Features
This is where it gets fun. I’m going to start with something that I personally have never experienced before with a gaming mouse. It comes with it’s own little LCD dongle. The Teevolution Rapidsync dongle. Giving you an instant, real-time display with six customisable settings, as well as the date and time at a glance.
Once you download the Teevolution app, which you need to do as part of the setup process, you are able to edit and customise a number of settings on this mouse. One of which is the polling rate, which can be set up to 8K. This is quite important for a gaming mouse, essentially, this is the measure of how frequently your mouse speaks to your computer. So, in essence, an 8K polling rate means your mouse speaks to your computer every 0.125 milliseconds (According to Google), giving you instantaneous reactions when playing those fast-paced twitch shooters.

Moving on to other features, the Teevolution Terra also allows you to modify your Lift of Distance, from 0.7 to 2mm. So if you like to lift your mouse off the surface, you can have 2mm before the sensor switches off. This can be handy if you like to move quickly in a small space.
Featuring a few other neat little touches, like Honeycomb Skates to allow you to have that ultra-smooth gliding for accurate movements. Buttons with some awesome FE Advanced Optical Switches, giving you a lifespan of up to 100 million clicks. The mouse is geared up for the long haul. This is meant to be a one-and-done type of mouse.
Final Thoughts
Usually, with new tech comes a few concerns. However, when using the Teevolution Terra, there was nothing to worry about. After setting up the RapidSync dongle and pairing it with the mouse, I was away. Well almost. I had a couple of initial hiccups to sort out, mainly due to me plugging the USB Dongle into a USB Hub, a quick change to directly into the motherboard, and I was golden.

To sum up my experience with the Teevolution Terra I’ll give it the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
