Square Enix And Marvel Have Dropped The Bomb

Where do I start?

Hype levels have reached DEFCON 5 with the latest big announcement that Square Enix and Marvel have started a multi-game partnership leading with The Avengers project.

With development being handled by the Tomb Raider studio Crystal Dynamics, in conjunction with the Deux Ex development team from Eidos Montreal.

The trailer we saw shows us part of Iron Man’s suit in ruins as well as Thor’s Hammer sitting there followed up with Captain America’s shield. Over the top of the footage we hear a female voice stating that heroes will always be needed and they just need to REASSEMBLE, which then leads us to an Avengers logo building from parts.

Marvels Press Release gives us the following information:

“The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise, Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018.”

Whilst this is all just a teaser, I am sure that many theories of the type of game will be doing the rounds on the internet and I would like to put my theory out there.

I am going to hedge my bets that we are going to get a Third-person style video game which allows us to have access to a number of different characters.

All of this is purely speculation and until we get firm word we can theorise until the cows come home, so stay tuned to Thumb Culture for any further information that becomes available.

Been playing games since I can remember, from spectrum all the to current consoles. Always been interested in video game news and recently got the opportunity to head up a great team of eager people. I’m generally a man of many words but I try and be succinct and to the point in everything I write.
