God of War Soundtrack

Spotify Users Gain Early Access to God of War Soundtrack

God of War is to be arriving on April 20th 2018, and alongside it shall be the original God of War Soundtrack, however if you have access to Spotify, you can listen to it now.

God of War, developed by Santa Monica Studio, is set for launch on the 20th of April 2018 exclusively on PS4. On that day, the original God of War Soundtrack shall also be arriving, but it has been launched early onto Spotify. Meaning that, from the 16th of April 2018, you can listen to the dramatic soundtrack on the Spotify music streaming platform.

The soundtrack has been composed by Bear McCreary, well known for OST’s such as The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate – Jack the Ripper.

“When Santa Monica Studio asked me to compose the score to the new God of War, I was awestruck, because I’m such a fan of the original games in the franchise. As I collaborated with game director Cory Barlog, it became clear that this new game would require wholly new music that did not revisit the memorable scores of the original games, but instead ventured forth into new musical territory. I took my memories of that classic God of War soundtrack – the deep choirs, pounding drums, and shrieking brass – and reinvented them for a Norse age. I wrote new themes, and introduced to the music exotic instrumentation and languages from various Northern European folk traditions.” – Bear McCreary

There is an interview with composer, Bear McCreary available to view on the PlayStation Blog, and if you want to listen to the soundtrack you can head over to Spotify and give it a listen.

I write review, I do video reviews, and I probably have an unhealthy obsession with caffeine.
