If you are new to the site, then one thing you have to know is that I love racing games. Even more so I love any kind of peripheral that allows me to have a better experience with said racing games. Step in Moza Racing, having previously provided us samples of the R3 and R9 wheelbase, it was the turn of an updated steering wheel. In particular, the Moza Racing KS Steering Wheel.
Clunk, Click, Every Trip
Retailing at around £249 on the Moza Racing website, it is by no means a cheap upgrade. Do the features warrant the price, or should you avoid the wheel altogether and maybe stick to the standard wheel? I’m going to try and help you decide that, so hold on tight, it’s going to be a bumpy ride – and that’s just me going into the gravel.
Design Features
The Moza Racing KS Steering Wheel is a GT-style racing wheel. Coming in at 300mm in width and with a butterfly design, it offers up immersion and realism that the original steering wheel cannot. Featuring an ergonomic design, with everything being perfectly positioned so that even in a battle on the track, you can reach each button easily. Even the actual grips themselves have indentations to give you a secure grip, even if you decide not to play wearing gloves.
The wheel itself features so many buttons you are going to have a lot of fun mapping everything you want. Alternatively, you can just use the Pit House Control Suite and let it do the heavy lifting for you. With 70 programmable input signals, 3 rotary encoders, 2 thumb encoders and a set of dual joysticks. Giving you the freedom to change things like Brake Bias, Traction Control and even ABS on the fly. Included in these inputs are 10 RGB buttons with an ultra-short 0.25m travel and choose from 8 different colours.
On the reverse of the Moza Racing KS you have a set of durable aluminium paddles with 0.03mm precision hall sensors. Ensuring that the paddles stay responsive and true for many shifts to come. As well as a dual clutch paddle to give greater launch control, depending on the game.
Made using carbon fibre reinforced composite plastic gives strength and rigidity, so you can rely on the wheel when going through quick changing directions. The wheel finally features the Moza Racing quick-release system, allowing you to swap your wheel within moments. You can even make use of the KS Steering Wheel on any of the Moza Racing wheelbases, adding to the incredible ecosystem that Moza has introduced.
Taking To The Track
During the testing of the Moza Racing KS Wheel, I headed on track in both F1 2025 and Asetto Corsa. Both of these games gave a great amount of fun, although I would have to say that F1 2025 was slightly more fun. Mostly because I just prefer the fast-paced action of the Formula One games. The rubberised grips on the wheel allowed me to keep a good grip, although after a while, they did start getting a little sticky. I’d definitely recommend using a pair of gloves next time.
Having all the buttons in close proximity meant I was quickly able to activate things like the DRS or even manage the ERS system efficiently. The paddles to change gear were responsive and even helped me learn a new skill. See, I’d never really used manual gears all that much, but with this wheel, it encouraged me to start. So now, whilst I’m still learning the craft, it does make it easier when everything is so nice to press.
Just take your time in the Pit House software to get it set up just right, and to make sure that you keep the firmware updated as well.
Final Thoughts
Brilliant, brilliant steering wheel. Adding to the already incredible Moza Racing R9 Wheel base, the Moza Racing KS ups the immersion.
The Moza Racing KS Steering Wheel gets the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.
