Do Not Get Your Buildings In A Twist!

So join me as I check out the first of the many sim building titles I intend to check out this year. If you enjoy this, don’t forget to check out my other articles on the website.

Gameplay

Buildings Have Feelings Too falls into the fun simulator category. The main aim of the game is to build up your city, however, it isn’t quite as straightforward as you think. Because these buildings have feelings, they liked to be in certain spots, they like different views and most of all they want nice neighbours. For example, charming little shops do not want to be next to large industrial monoliths.

Chimneys for days!

As you progress and learn about the different buildings you can upgrade them to make your high street more attractive. By doing this you earn more money and then can place more buildings. Set on a 2D cityscape you only have limited room so you have to ensure you have what is required.

Your goal is to bring your city into the present, making it the booming high street is once was. With tasks set along the way you have to ensure that you are building the correct architectural structures to hit your targets. Whilst, ensuring everyone is happy. Trust me, keeping a building happy can be a lot harder than you would think.

Graphics & Audio

The graphics on Buildings Have Feelings Too have been done really well. The assets used to create this title mesh together perfectly and the art style is just stunning. I love what indie titles are bringing to gaming at the minute and I am all for it. From the environments/townscapes around you to the buildings themselves, there is charm everywhere to be seen.

Charming Village Vibes

When it comes to the audio, this fits perfectly in with the art style. It has a fun cafe-style theme throughout the soundtrack. This fits in perfectly with the building ahead of you. It lifts the game and brings another layer of personality. On top of this, the narration has been done extremely well. With a comedic edge, it brings a little fun to the game.

Longevity

As with most sim related titles, it all depends on if you enjoy that particular type of game. However, there is one slight difference with Buildings Have Feelings Too. It has a more locked-down feeling with the environment. This could be because the game doesn’t have a vast amount of depth. Having said that you could quite easily lose your time ensuring all of your buildings are placed correctly and are cared for. After all, we do not want any unhappy buildings.

Growing The City

Final Thoughts

Buildings Have Feelings Too left me wanting more in the game, it did feel quite slow at times. Having said that, this doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy my time with the buildings. The environments are beautifully done and the game itself is extremely relaxing. For myself, one play through would be enough. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed stream, or even for someone wanting a quiet gaming night in. I award Buildings Have Feelings Too with a Thumb Culture Bronze Award.
