Dolmen Preview

Dolmen is a horror action RPG set in the far future in a distant part of the galaxy. Previously having made Tap Hitz on mobile, this is the first major release for Brazilian developer Massive Work Studio. Massive Work made the game in partnership with publisher Prime Matter. And was made possible after a successful Kickstarter campaign. The titular Dolmen is a mysterious mineral whose discovery led to being able to cross into parallel universes. As you may expect this doesn't go well and various monsters and creatures enter our universe. You play as the unnamed protagonist tasked to find out what happened on Revion Prime and recover the mineral. I was able to play this preview version with a full release on PC during 2022 and later planned to be released on PS4 & Xbox One. Slay the...

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond Review

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, from developers ILCA for Nintendo, was released in November as the latest Pokémon remake. The original game has always had mixed responses from fans. The pixel art was a thing of beauty, but the Gen4 dex was underwhelming. Still, there was plenty of excitement at another Pokémon getting remade to modern standards for the Nintendo Switch. Remakes of classic games are a tricky thing – do you just update the graphics, or do you also make some little improvements to the general gameplay and story? We saw with Lets Go! Pikachu/Eevee that the update in graphics was wonderful. Seeing wild Pokémon walking around instead of random spawns was an upgrade I never knew I needed. The mechanics like throwing a ball to catch a Pokémon though became quite tedious and the old-s...

Park Life We all know that life finds a way. That’s just a fact. Did you know that post-release content also finds a way? The people over at Frontier Games do. As a result, there’s some DLC for Jurassic World Evolution 2 called the ‘Early Cretaceous Pack’. I assume it’s because the 4 dinos that are included were knocking around during the cretaceous period. Playing Doom…30 Years Later – A Retrospective Review

Almost 30 years ago, id Software released what is still considered one of the most defining and important games in video game history. I am of course talking about Doom. Doom is an FPS action game developed and published by id Software and was released on December 10th, 1993. The game was originally published with only the first nine levels on MS-DOS but due to its success, the full game was later ported to Windows 95, the Sega 32X, Atari Jaguar, Super Nintendo, and then pretty much every well-known game console you can name. Not to mention ATMs, barcode scanners, and...pregnancy tests. If you played video games in the early '90s and you had a computer, you most definitely played Doom. This game defined a generation and set the standard for FPS shooters. It was one of the most talked...
