Reveal number 1: From the creative minds who brought us Fable we saw the first look of Tin Hearts, an amazing toy inspired puzzle game with a story surrounded by invention and family values.  Due out in Winter this year and across all platforms it looks truly incredible. Kostas Zarifis, creative director of Rogue Sun said it was "a mix of Lemmings and Charles Dickens Christmas carol."  Leading toys from point A to point B, Tin Hearts incorporates VR, although playable without it, and utilises the small scale of the toys alongside storytelling to make the gamer feel almost god-like.  Take a look at ...

Astral Ascent is the latest PC game I had the pleasure of checking out early. Man what a game we're in for with this one. Astral Ascent is a rogue-lite action-adventure game brought to us by Hibernian Workshop (Dark Devotion). Astral Ascent - Fight Your Way To Freedom In Astral Ascent, you must escape from the Garden. The Garden is an astral prison that is guarded by 12 strong and vicious bosses, The Zodiacs. Will this game fight its way to the top or be another drop in a pool of rogue-lites? Read on to find out my initial thoughts for this preview. You can read my previous article here. Gameplay The gameplay in Astral Ascent kind of reminds me of Dead Cells. Jump, hack, slash, use a spell. You get the idea. Of course, there's more to it than that, but that's a general idea. If you've ...

GamesMaster – The Oral History Book Has Launched On Kickstarter!

Dominik Diamond and the crew are back! kind of. Read-only memory, publishers of other beautiful books about videogames have launched a Kickstarter for their latest piece of work... GamesMaster: The Oral History. This will be a book full of the highs and lows of one of my favourite TV shows during the 90s, the almighty GamesMaster. The book will feature photography, stories, a foreword from the one and only Robbie Williams (yes, of Take That fame), and much more. In the book, we find out amazing facts about the show, such as the below quote. "It took two Amiga 2000s for designers Chris and Simon to create animated maps of Patrick’s distorted face, purposely run slightly out of phase to create a time-lapse effect" I never knew that one. Amazing. You can get a copy of the book starti...
