Shenmue I & II to Re-Release This Year

SEGA today blew out an announcement trailer for Shenmue I & II, announcing the re-release of the classic title due to arrive this year.

Shenmue I & II, an adventure series by SEGA back in 1999 for the first, and 2001 for the second. The title saw players taking control of Ryo Hazuki amongst an open-world with quick action events taking place through dramatic cut-scenes as he hunts down his Father’s murderer.

The title is due to get a third instalment this year as well, being developed by Ys Net, the original series’ Director and producer. The third instalment was on Kickstarter looking for $2,000,000 and raised $6,333,295 with 69,320 backers behind it.

The re-release of Shenmue I & II is said to be staying true to the originals, and will introduce more modern advancements, such as PC graphic options, new modern controls schemes or the classic control schemes, a new UI, fully scalable screen resolutions, and the option to have English or Japanese voiceovers.

The trailer, which you can watch below features pre-release footage of the title. When it launches, it’ll be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, both digitally, and physically.
