Battlewake PS4 Review – Shallow Waters

Avast ye matey! Buccaneer’s Survios have unearthed Battlewake, a VR pirate adventure. Is this the VR booty you’ve been craving or is it just a trip to the poop deck? I know what you’re thinking, Sea of Thieves VR? Well...no, it’s not. Although it definitely has similarities in terms of design, gameplay-wise, it’s nothing like it. Battlewake is a battle arena game, where you take control of one of four characters who have unique abilities in order to take down countless pirates. Released September 10th in America and 19th September in the EU, have the excellent Survios, creators of fantastic PSVR games such as Raw Data and Sprint Vector, got another hit on their hands? Gameplay Focusing on gameplay, I used the move controllers but the game is compatible with the Dualshock. You aim ...

eFootball PES 2020 PC Review – Time For a Change?

eFootball PES 2020 is the new football simulation game developed by PES productions & published by Konami and was released on September 10th on PS4, Xbox One & PC via steam. This year's PES 2020 release features the added “eFootball” in the title as a way for Konami to push into the online gaming space for a focus on the PESLeague and eFootball Pro tournaments. Konami have enlisted the help of former Barcelona & Spain legend Andres Iniesta as a gameplay consultant, to help shape a “renewed focus on immersion and authenticity, translating his innate ability to read the space around him and slip through the tiniest cracks of an otherwise impregnable defensive line into a new dynamic dribbling technique; the Finesse Dribble”. On the cover this year is the return of Lione...

Speedlink Orios Gaming Mouse Pad XL – Neon Sensations?

Ok so we all love a good mouse pad, but wow when this monster of a pad from Speedlink landed at TC HQ it was something else!  Measuring 910mm wide x 420mm deep x 3mm high the Orios Gaming Mouse pad XL dominates the desk giving you a massive surface to glide your mouse freely across (in this case the Roccat Kone AIMO) as well as an area for your keyboard if you so desire. Features With an anti-skid rubberised backing that holds the mouse pad to the deck for even the heaviest handed player, the soft slick cloth surface on top also has a water-repellent finish should you do the unthinkable and knock a drink over.  The feel of the mouse pad is very sleek and the mouse moves quickly around however I did on occasion feel my hand starting to sweat a little where it made contact with the pad...

Killing Floor: Double Feature PS4 Review – A Virtual Nightmare

Killing Floor 2 by Tripwire Interactive is a game that I've always wanted to jump into, but never really had the time to do so. Years ago I was obsessed with games like Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising and something about a horde of zombies really fascinated me on a technical level. Killing Floor: Double Feature not only allows me to finally jump into the series but also experience some zombie killing action up close and personal in virtual reality. Both Killing Floor 2 and Killing Floor Incursion have been nicely bundled together in one ready to purchase package. Gameplay It's important to note that both games play a little differently given their respective platforms. Killing Floor 2 is primarily a multiplayer shooter with the option to play offline and Killing Floor Incursion is more singl...

Solo: Islands Of The Heart Switch Review – Pocket Counsellor

Is your relationship failing? do you often want to know exactly how your partner is feeling but they never talk about it? playing Solo: Island Hearts sure opened up a new can of worms within gameplay for me! Involving both real puzzles to mess with your brain and real-life issues that may occur during relationships, asking at many times personal questions, was it worthy of me spending more than an hour? did it look like a cheap alternative to relationship counselling? enough with the questions, Coral - Although, I think the game has rubbed off on me with all the invading questions given. Super Dodge Ball Beats PC Review – Dodge, Dip, Dive, Duck, and Dodge

The first thing I thought of when I saw the main menu of this game, Dragon Ball Z. It has an anime feel that will appeal to fans of that genre. Super Dodgeball Beats was developed by FinalBoss Games and Published by PlayStack. Super Dodgeball Beats was released on September 12, 2019, and is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This review is for the PC version of the game.   Gameplay Super Dodgeball Beats is a really interesting game, as I have never played dodgeball in a video game before this. The basic premise of the game is that you are students who have formed a dodge ball team. There really isn’t a story here. The game has 2 main game modes, Championship and multiplayer. In the championship mode, you will be able to select from 3 leagues to pla...

Creature in the Well Switch Review – Pinball Puzzle Perfection

The year was 1901 and Julia Davis Chandler knew only two things, she liked peanut butter and she liked jam. At that moment genius struck and just like the Spice Girls, she decided that two must become one. That day the American youth were introduced to the Peanut Butter Jelly (Jam) sandwich, and this revolutionised snack time for years to come. Fast forward to 2019, and Flight School Studios have combined the dungeon crawler and pinball genre to create a truly fascinating game, which releases on Switch, Xbox One. and PC on September 6th 2019. Creature in the Well opens in the midst of a sandstorm. The protagonist, Bot-C, awakens and begins his journey towards a mountain town in the distance. This is where we are introduced to the antagonist, the Creature in the Well, who is a loomin...
